Blue, yellow and white are/ were the colours of the old Royal Army Service Corps (or RASC, RCASC, RAASC, RNZASC RIASC etc etc). Replaced by the RCT in 1966 or so and the RLC in 1998 or somewhere close.

You can tell if the RASC drivers helmets (and berets) are real because they have a flat spot at the side where they fall asleep and lean on the cab side screen on long tiresome journeys. Just joking.......

To be honest, these corps colour indicators were useful things on active service when there were no cap badges visible. At least you'd recognise, say, the REME blokes etc when you needed one and being REME, you were among friends and knew that the pot was always on the boil.

Just as a matter of interest BAR, did Canadaicon follow the UKicon line with changing from the RASC to the RCT and then the RLC/Royal Logistics Corps? What about Australiaicon and NZ now?

We went to the RCEME and then EME. I can't say what they call themselves now.
