Seen a few pets (mainly dogs) turn on a dime.
A niece had her faced mauled by her beloved Springer Spaniel seemingly for no known reason.
After 4 plastic surgeries scars are still visible years after.
Dog was diagnosed with Avalanche or Rage Syndrome, not commonly found in the breed.
Her parents gave the dog to friends in the country.
I still say it should have been put down, even told them so.
Why take the chance of someone else being attacked?

I cringe when I see people stick their babies face to any animal.
    Again, Why take the chance?
    It's still an animal.

I laugh at people when they say, "No, my dog will do this or that"... I say, "No, he's a dog, he'll do what he wants"... History until now, then history changes. It's a dog...it's an animal.

You mean like the lady who was blinded and had her face and lower jaw literally ripped off by her friend's pet chimpanzee "that never hurt anyone"?

If it happened once, it could and most likely will happen again. I'm with you, put it down.

Similar situation with my little crippled buddies Daughters Pit bull. Absolutely vicious, I mean Brutal. Was raised to be. Chained to the wall near the front door on a 3' run.
When they could no longer control it or get any where near it they reached out to a country vet to put it down.
The Vet refused with a tone like: You made the monster you handle it.
The Daughters kids were now old enough to be walking around with many close calls.
I helped move the dog out to his farm where he dispatched it.
Sad really, wasn't the dogs fault, it was how he was raised. A dog so strong 2 of us could barely hold him off.

    2 things:
1- A animal should never be fully trusted.
2- Some people shouldn't own pets.
