You and I are about the same age. Is Sal your father, Uncle?

Your Dad's duty was as or more dangerous than most might think. Merchant ships were prime targets, dangerous duty transporting men and equipment. These men do not receive full military benefits. Some for service during specified years and operations.
I have a friend who turns 100 Jan 12. The services wouldn't take him for some medical reason, so he went in the Merchant Marines. His merchant ship was torpedoed and sunk and they were in the water three days. Gave him a leave, then he went out on another ship. He gets some Military benefits, but not all that I get.

    Paul,

Kaveman91 is a nine year member, with few posts. Not everyone fills out a complete profile. I have read yours and it is very complete. I could add items to mine, I have a credit in the back of WBII but what's the point. Most guys leave it empty.

Not a reason to be snippy towards his request to see more photo's. If it has been sold and that is not possible, than you can't. Simple answer.

New Year, let's start it off playing nice. We are all here for the same reasons. Learning and collecting Carbines.

    Jim

Jim I was told by a moderator along time ago it was reqired to fill out your profile info. Secound the rifle was not sold it was GIVEN to the young man. Third I like to know who I am responding to because of some past problems I have had with some people. Lets just say it had to do with death threats. Sorry if my request upset you but that is what I was told by a moderator to do to be safe on this site.

For what it's worth, profiles can be manipulated, lied on and in an innocent way, incorrectly filled out. If someone is honest then they're honest and if they're not then eventually they will be exposed in other ways.

We agree, and have been in agreement on that for years.

And people who manipulate and lie and don't fill out the profile information usually have a reason to hide who they are. After spending 30 years collectimg M1icon Carbines that has been a fact that I know is true.
