"Irish Contract" rifles

I have a Canadian Ranger Irish contract rifle. I have read that the Canadian government bought some of the Irish contracts and I am wondering if there is a specific serial number block for those Ranger rifles. Mine is 1/54 PF3152xx

Was there any specification as to where they came from? I would wonder if they were an LPO here from one of the dealers as a bulk purchase? We were running out of full wood #4 rifles of any description and they were down to cannibalization.

They supposedly bought 500 of them on the surplus market in roughly 2000.

They issued them (for the first time from what i was told) for the RCMP honor guard of the Mayerthorpe rcmp funeral in 2005.
