Op Slide Problem ?

All it would take is a hard inclusion in the metal that would cause a bit to jump. I've seen a few parts ruined that way. If the break doesn't effect the utility of the part, they were sometimes passed like the drill run outs on some of the early deep hole drillings.

That's right, if it worked they accepted it. Maybe not in the beginning but for sure later.
