Interesting thread this, I'm always keen to see what can be done with an M1903. In particular the reduced loads interest me.
Mine's a Remington M1903A3 and last week I put a few rds downrange at 100 mtrs, I had made up some loads using a Belgian powder that only made around 2-3", the reduced loads however were quite impressive. 165grn flat tipped cast bullets (from the Czechicon Republic) sat on top of 14grns Vihtavouri N340. So that's a nice mixture, US rifle, Czech bullets, Finnishicon powder, Brit shooter on a Germanicon range. The results:

Nice shooting there! My Zombie targets were shot at the 50yd. line as I'm still in the load development stage. The light load will be shot at 100yd. next time, but that will be awhile as I had a cataract removed last week.
I also prefer light loads for my bolt milsurps. I'm only shooting paper Zombies so I see no reason to wear out the rifle or my shoulder. 16g seems to be the sweet spot for 2400 powder. My .308 Spanish Mauser likes that powder/bullet combo the best also. I was amazed at the holes in the target. Looked like they were cut with a paper punch.

My feelings too. If I fire around 40 rds or more of M2 I feel and look like the world boxing champ has used me as a punch bag.
