    I would imagine that it would be the case that 4 or 6 equals Barrel size. The holster I have looks like it can accommodate a barrel about that size.

    old holster

    I found this in the back room of an old gunshop years ago. It is for the Colt 1911 and there is a single magazine pouch too. This is called,Attachment 103945 I believe a "pancake" holster and dates to the WW1 time period ? What is interesting is that it can be used as a hip or shoulder holster. Never able to locate any information as it is without markings but well made.

    I was trying to get a date or era it was manufactured. The company started in 1952 but other than that nothing much is out there on these.
