    M for Model 19xx.

    A knowledgeable true gunsmith at the show explained the scope mount to me. The mating part is one piece and pivots across the bore much like the old Redfield mount on the 1903A4. The back part has a windage adjustment feature (missing) and elevation is done in the scope.
