Delboy I know Roger can repair/ refurbish the scopes, he does an excellent job. Might be worth this time to refurbish the scope ready to do another 70 years service.

I've PM'd you Delboy. Feel free to drop either Warren or I a line, we will both do our best to help if we can. I wouldn't request you send me your lead screw but I have asked for some dimensions to be taken from it should you decide to secure a replacement from me.

I am not an expert in No.32 scopes.
But before doing anything . Try to setup your
Rifle in a rig. Level the barrel very accurate.
Then control that the scope is complete in level as well.
Even a small misalignment will cause that your leadscrew be out of
Adjustment range.
I have mounted several repro mounts (mostly Accumounts)
In ALL cases the front pad was a little too high and make the scope
Tilt a little backwards. As fare I can see it will shove up in a problem
As you described.
In All my cases I have to make new front pads myself .
Maby this is a stupid adwise.
Some Expert can tell if it is or not.

Hi Delboy. I don't actually service scopes as a commercial service, I am just lucky to have acquired rather a lot of original but battered & incomplete scopes over the years. Consequently I have had various internal parts remanufactured & have had a fair amount of practice now in getting the things apart & back together again. I must say in this respect PL was a great source of advice, as have been Warren & Valley Sniper. However, I only work on my own scopes as I do not want to have to carry the can back if something major goes pear shaped on somebody else's pride & joy, but am happy to supply you with a replacement lead screw if you wish. If you can give me the dimensions I mentioned it will increase the likelihood that the lead screw will be a satisfactory fit.
P.S. Just received your email & have responded.

Hi again
If won’t help you to get a longer leedscrew.
A No. 32 scope is not like a standard “huntingscope”
It has a scalestop i both end.
When you turn the rangedrum clockwise and is
Stop on 8. It means it have reach its end of trawling
To correct this issue you need to create more space
Between the contact points in the rangedrum.
A longer bolt. Is just longer in the wrong end.
I dont think a. Original scope will have this issue
So if I. Where you I will cortroll the mount once more
Werry carefully.

If the rings are parallel with the bore the setup is not correct. The two axes must coincide. I think Peter's books give the details.
