Something Japanese
Got this the other day there is not much left on the base but from what I have seen and sourced all indications point to it being a 37mm x 155mm Japanese cannon shell.
The cases I saw on the web had the F also what looks like 2 small flags is whats left on a better example of a pair of either cannons or flags and I got it pretty cheap.
Have not got much IJA stuff at all for that matter couple of Arisaka
rounds a Shin Gunto 98 and this one.
Thoughts!

Yes, I have one here too...37 x 165 I make it though. Mine is actually 167mm though. I got mine a year back from another member here... Most of my marks are same as yours. Looks like yours is shorter in the neck than mine though...

Yes I think your right Jim had a good look at the neck and what I reckon has happened here is it may have been flared for a flower stand and the seller has dressed the neck down as I can see new brass and file striation marks. Still its not too badly messed with and I got it fairly cheap $43/Aud.
Nice looking shell case to BAR..

That sounds about right. I had a two pounder that was gunned up at the mouth and dressed it back to sell. An older guy bought it and was super happy to have it. They aren't around any more. These are far harder to find, that's why I jumped at this one when it was offered...now I think I have to make a projectile...turned out of solid aluminum I guess.
