    Well, if you're going to restore it as far as possible to how it would have been before its present woodwork was chopped about, you don't need to worry about volley sights. The shallow 'dished' area between the rear sight bed & the barrel band is where the front volley sight plate would have been, had your rifle been fitted with volleys.
