    I too recently restored an LSA 1916 No III. Since 1916 was the year a lot of the features on early SMLEs changed I put on a nose cap with stacking swivel, an early type rear sight protector, and a cutoff. I thought about putting a windage adjusment rear sight, but then saw that the original serial number is on the non windage sight on the sporter, so didn't add that. I didn't consider volley sights as I think they wouldn't have appeared on a 1916 rifle. Anyway, here is the result.
