No1 MkIII forestock
Has anyone used the new production unstained hardwood forestock? I am basically building a No1 MKIII from a receiver and looking to put together a stock set. I have a NOS buttstock made of beech. I was thinking of picking up the forestock mentioned as well. I still need to find some hand-guards.

I've used a similar one for a project. It required a lot of sanding and fiddly fitting to get it right, then a lot of BLO applications to look good, but worked well if you have the time and inclination.

Just recently I was surfing around and found a company selling what appeared to be NOS Indian wood that looked really good...although the forestocks had ishy screws. I was bing searching for some gun parts a couple weeks ago and didn't pay much attention to their stuff beyond the stocks. I'll see if I can track them down

Thanks guys I appreciate it. It seems the area around the trigger guard is not flush with the trigger guard on these. I am guessing the wood needs to sanded down to fit correctly? I dont know if i have the tools for that.

Seems to be a bunch of links to various vendors on e-bay...
