Need info on this lee enfield sniper

I don't see it leaving Messrs Holland & Holland like that. Perhaps it's a genuine rifle that got stripped at some point & required the fitting of a replacement rear pad (out of military service).

I was thinking along similar lines, PL checked it over for me before my purchase (I bought it unseen except for photos) and he made no comment on it so I took it as being 'acceptable'.

It 'works as it should' just looks a bit ugly.

It is an RAF issue 4T and was last serviced at '34 Base Workshops Catterick' September '68
