Jim, I don`t know how anyone got anything other than a request for an opinion on KAHR arms? My comment was I don`t want to spend $1000+ on a KAHR arms rifle if the consensus is garbage. Then it just went south from there. I have grown to trust your opinions on here. Are you saying you recently purchased the beautiful rifle you showed for $1000? What a buy. I haven`t seen anything close to that. So what would you suggest a poor man to do? What manufacturer would you recommend? I haven`t seen any Semi-autos in my price range by any other manufacturer (is there any other company making them?) and the $25k for an auto Is far beyond hope. I`m simply looking for opinions from people who have owned one was it worth it or just a jammomatic pain? Not trying to be confrontational in any way. HOPE EVERYONE STAYS SAFE HAPPY AND HEALTHY.

Thank You Jim, I know a new polished turd is still just s##t. That rifle of yours is very nice. Can`t sell the kids so one like that is out of the question. Going to think it over may have to just consider another M1 Garand. Really want an International Harvester to go with my International Business Machine. Hope all are safe and healthy.

I've had a few different variants of the semi-autos made by Numrich/Auto Ordnance through my shop and found them all to be rough as a cob but functional. Guessing the Kahr Arms variants are much the same but I can't speak from experience. There is a gunsmith in Colorado, (Paul Krogh of Diamond K), who can tune any of them up to near perfect if the need arises. Like Jim, (oh yeah, that's a real piece of junk 1928 with it's original Dulite blue finish Jim!), I have a Savage M1A1 made in 1943 that was mailed back in pieces to South Carolina by the Marine who carried it on Iwo Jima. It was turned into the Edgefield Chief of Police and registered during the 1968 amnesty. I traded seven BFI XM15E2S HB carbines, ammo and accessories for it back in 2005 knowing full well that it'd be a bit of a project. I bought a nos cut up Savage M1A1 parts kit at KCR, Kentucky when they were cheap and freshly imported from the UK who got them out of Russia. I had the barrel changed as it was trashed from corrosive ammo and no care. I also replaced the pistol grip as the original was broken. It ain't the prettiest M1A1 out there but it's mostly original and all Savage. It runs like a well oiled machine and will stay with me into the forseeable future. Oh yeah, I'm embarrassed to say that it's pictured in the Osprey booklet on the TSMG as done by Martin Pegler. He described it as having been on Guadalcanal which was annoying but fits with his track record of mythological writings in his books and lack of attention to detail! Changing the subject a bit, I see Bruce Canfield is perpetrating mythology too in the April 2020 American Rifleman magazine on page 40 by telling the owner of a Savage No.4 that the first thousand didn't have the "US Property" stamp. Considering we've beat that horse to death here and have seen sn. OC1 which has the mark, I was disappointed. God bless these authors and editors for doing their job but I wish more attention to detail would be observed. Maybe they should have a look over here on Milsurps.com from time to time!

This is my first post here. I've fired the Kahr/Auto-Ordnance Thompson. They shoot good, as far as I could tell. From my perspective, the 16" barrel just doesn't look right. Were I you, go the SBR (short-barreled rifle) route. That way, you'll have the look, without the price. Let us know what you decide to do.

So she is not a Carbine She is a 16" Rifle for sure. No SBR... far too little patients to wait. But she has ran 500rds with 2 jams. My wife was holding the magazine each time it jammed. Very accurate wish it came with windage adjustable sights. she does shoot about 3" left at 25yds. But over all very happy with it.

I purchased both a Numrich/Auto Ordnance semi-automatic M1 and M1927A1 when they first came out back in the 1970's. There is no comparison between the full auto and semi-auto models. Over the years I shot original guns and they are works of art. The semi-autos I had to send out to get work on them performed to make a functional firearm out both of them. They are more of an expensive novelty item then a reliable firearm.

We can find a few originals here, but modified for semiautomatic fire only. Too bad.
Prices can be steep, but sometimes surprisingly "low", at 1200 € or so.
That is also something I'd look for sooner or later.
But first i need, yes need, a 1911 (even a modern one) and a revolver in .45LC.
My dream would be a S&W 25-2 or -3, 6" or 6.5". Some pop up every now and then, but man...are they expensive.

The machining is very crisp, I cut myself on the bottom of the receiver the first time i pulled it apart. The machining is tight. No problems but the 2 jams. As good or better than some of my semi-autos. Have another 250 rds through it now. So 750rds =2 jams. Pretty happy no work needed to make it run.

She is a fun way to get rid of excess ammo. my only real problem was the first purchase. ordered from Pennsylvania. Got to my FFL OPENED IT UP AND ALL THERE WAS WAS THE RIFLE... NO MAGS, NO MANUAL NOTHING BUT THE RIFLE. SHOULD OF HAD THE 50RD DRUM AND 20RD MAG.
So Elk Country Ammo in PENN. Said they didn`t even open the case before they sent it?????? very busy they said. OK.... call Mark at Kahr arms they told me. Called and gave him my serial number and 2 days latter everything but the drum arrived. They told me it was on backorder and would be sent ASAP. I Have to say Kahr arms customer service was great just wish they had put the kit together right the first time. So haven`t had a chance to try it with the drum yet.
