Well, another week has past and the gun cases are getting emptier and emptier. We got are first S&W and Sig Sauer pistols in, two SD9, one SD40, a P365XL with manual safety and a M17. The S&W SD9s were gone within the first hour. The SIG Sauers were gone by the next day. I had a gentleman bring back a black Troy A4 Other in 5.56mm who had buyer's panic and want to return the gun. We gave him the full price return which we did not have to do. That lasted one hour in the gun rack. I had another return a OD Green Troy A4 Other in 5.56mm because safety switch did not "look" right. While I was putting a new safety switch in the gun. I had a customer purchase the gun out of hands. I am back doing gunsmithing full time again. I should have never sold my milling machine as I could use it now. I am getting customers who cannot find a defense shotgun bringing in one of their hunting shotguns to cut the barrels down to the legal limit. I must have done about 5 of them so far. The ammunition situation has worsen. The local distributor is limiting the number of cases to purchase per dealer so we are limiting our purchases to 5 box per customer. Still getting customers who seem to have been living under a rock or in a cave since the Covid-19 virus started and wonder why we can not get firearms. AR parts are starting to dry up or getting outrageously priced. Gun parts are taking four weeks or longer to get. Some manufacturers have stopped selling parts to dedicate the parts to production. I have resorted to e-bay to purchase parts. Customers do not care about cost they just want their guns fixed. NICS is still taking 4 to 5 days. It has been brutally hot and humid for the past two weeks. Today it seems we are getting a break and it is raining. Well, that's it on the NJ home front. Everyone stay safe and healthy.

Update: After I had written this post yesterday I stopped in the shop to drop off two firearms that I repaired. Christmas in July was the last day in July. The boss is as happy as a "pig in *hit". The Troy dealer showed up with 17 Troy A4 Others both in 5.56mm and 9mm. The feeding frenzy has started!! Blood is in the water!! Shut up and just take my money!! We have another 30 coming in next week and the additional 30 in the week after that. We are also getting tactical shotguns from the same source. If we can keep up this pace through to after the election in November we should be Okay. I don't think there will be much of a hunting season this year as most production of guns and ammunition is focused on the tactical stuff.
