Finally found my Krag

Hello: nice looking Krag. I do not think you can date your rifle from the bolt markings. The "Krag collectors association" is a great web site with a lot of friendly, knowledgable folks who can help you out. Unfortunatly the site is under reconstruction. Hopefully it will be back up and running soon. There are some books on the Krag rifle. The Joe Poyer book is still in circulation. It is helpful and reasonably priced. As far as the chamber on your rifle I would have it checked. Some VFW rifles were rechambered to fire 30-06 blanks if I recall correctly.
