early Springfield 1944 rifle
I have owned this rifle for quite a long time and did add the fiddleback hand guards years ago to match the nice fiddleback walnut stock. I know I did add a few parts to make everything correct. The barrel has an excellent bore without any chrome at the gas port.
One thing is the BT&BCO marked sling which is the only marking. I have seen the WW1 BT&BCO 1918 marked slings with smaller letters but nothing like this sling. This could have been a post WW1 manufacture or pre WW2 manufacture ? anyone have information ?Attachment 110613Attachment 110612Attachment 110614Attachment 110615Attachment 110616Attachment 110617

No such thing as a bad Garand, just some that are used and have obtained experience and character.
