The Ethiopians sent soldiers to Korea and they were fabulous soldiers, probably using these carbines. S.L.A.Marshall's book "Pork Chop Hill" has chapters on these soldiers and they really were the real deal. They were the best users of artillery and used simple color coded maps to control it. SLAM says of them: "They took their whisky neat and by the tumbler" people who were in better shape than anyone else simply by coming from that country. I had a friend who was stationed in Asmara and he said that deserters have one of their legs cut off.
