Attachment 111291 It sure is. I had a no4 that had lost the bayonet lug, and had a partly hand-carved walnut stock I didn't know what to do with.
I've just noticed that my fears with that gun not being bedded well enough have come true. It has popped some wood off on the wrist.Guess I'm going to be doing some more work on it.
That looks pretty darn good.
It's unfortunate about the bedding issue but at least you now have an idea on how to proceed ... something like this is much about trial and errors and is never 100% completed if you ask me.
There's always room for improvement, but that's part of the fun.
I know a guy that has an original butchered one and wanted to fix it up... i'll show him what you have done.
