    Odd serial number

    Guys,
I recently purchased a 1950 Longbranch Mk1* that came with a PH5C rear sight and has DCRA stamps in it along with C broad arrows. The serial number on the band, bolt and magazine match. The rifle is in amazing condition but the serial number is Bl11926 there is just enough patina on this rifle that shows light usage over the last 70 years but absolutely no signs of an FTR. Please help?

The DCRA rifles had a separate serial number applied. I believe there is a known list of all DCRA rifles. A search for that here and a few other sites will yield that information.
Verify that your rifle is there, and there's your answer. If it was made as a purpose built civilian target rifle, the chance for a post DCRA conversion FTR had long past.

My latest is 1943 SN 25L6954. A sporter with the bayonet lugs cut off, that I made into a faux L42.
