If you want a good setup for a modern socpe (1 incvh) the S&K non intrusive works wonderfully (solid).

If you scope is 1 inch that might work as well but not sure on the eye relief let alone shooting a gun with an old scope and what it might do to the scope.

The S&K uses the rear bolt of the rear site and the spring screw down. Very solid.

The only downside is the cheek weld is not there as you wind up high. Either float your head or get one of the strap on leather cheek welds and build it up per an M1icon.
