    If you look at the manual and master parrts list for the L39 (and L42) you will see that the butt is a standard No4, and it was only issued with the 'N' length butt.

    Would you like a copy of the illustrated parts lists ?
    Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...
