A few weeks ago I wrote about a young mother of two who was in our ICU, ventilated with lab confirmed Covid19. The back history is that she had no comorbidity issues except that she and her immediate family had not been vaccinated and if her husbands attitude is an indicator, he thought that mask wearing was an infringement on his freedom. He created quite a stir because he was required to wear a mask to enter the hospital. She presented at the ED with flu symptoms and was isolated per protocol and a nasal swab was taken and she tested positive for Covid19. Her symptoms were relatively mild and she was sent to an isolation floor and put on covid protocol. She deteriorated quickly and was sent to the ICU on an HHC (heated high flow cannula) but after a few days it became necessary to ventilate her. Her condition waxed and waned on a daily if not hourly basis. Despite everyone's best efforts she died at the end of this week. This ridiculous nonsense was and is avoidable. Two motherless children, a family lost their daughter/wife/aunt etc for foolish, ludicrous, ill-advised reasons.

I wonder what her husbands thoughts on vaccination are now ....?

It's just depressing, I don't personally know anyone who has refused the vaccine, or at least admitted it....

There are plenty around my "neck of the woods." A couple of near-by counties have percentage vaccinated rates in the low 30's and 40's. Most large vaccination centers are now beginning to close. - Bob
