What rifle does this trigger guard belong to?
I recently purchased a lot of Arisaka parts on Gunbroker. Among the lot was a trigger guard that I don't recognize. It looks like a type 38, but with two differences. The floor plate release looks like a Type 99 release, and the front end is flat.
Can anyone id the trigger guard on the right?

The one on the right looks like it’s for a type 99 because the floor plate has a hinge pin. Type 38s do not have this and the entire floor plate separates when released. The problem i see is the tang is too short...it should be longer as the type 99 tang is one piece and contoured to the stock back to the rear action screw.
Maybe for another Mauser action rifle or maybe a type 38/99 training rifle? Something they had little variances.

I would think that it is a T99 trigger guard that has the tang cut off. I have seen several T99 sporters with trigger guards like that.
