Thank you gentleman; nice to see others can look past some of the flaws I wasnt able to erase.
browningautorifle, I am guilty of taking it out of the gunsafe and eye-balling it. I have a few other Mk I'***'s, a Mk I*, and a Cond Mk II. This one is my favorite range rifle. While no target rifle, it keeps it in 3" at 100 yards, and best 200 yard group was a hair over 5". This one sees the most range time of them all.
I have to give credit where credit is due: my inspiration came from reading this forum. Specifically, Louthepoo, Bigduke6, and englishmanCA who have posted some wonderful restorations. I am no machinist, and limit my work to wood only, with the occassional sight-sweating installation. Also, Peter Laidlers on-line articles of how to fit wood have proved priceless as well as build confidence.
I always tell myself to quit "rescuing" rifles. But there are a few I couldnt pass up, this being one of them. And it did go through two re-listings with no bids before I took the plunge, so perhaps there was a higher power at work that brought this rifle to me. Or maybe I have a soft-spot for neglected enfields...
Thanks again for the comments.Information
