I don't know if this is related to the above postings, but many years ago I was picking up some M1icon rifle
stocks from a dealer at his warehouse. This dealer bid on government surplus and bought alot of stuff
from Rock Island and Crane in Ind. He had carbine stocks all over and i noticed some of them, they
very light weight wood of a type, I was not familiar with - and the stocks in the butt area were two piece
like the Japanese Arisakaicon stocks. He told there were from Japan !
