That strange bolt is not a bolt. It is the recoil plate screw escutcheon. When the screw it tightened the escutcheon is drawn up into the stock. Look on the top surface of the stock, left side beside the barrel channel near the front. You may find an SA stamped there. I'd guess it is a military stock. It certainly looks like one. Those appear to be rack numbers on the stock. It would be somewhat unusual to find a crossed cannon stamp on one of those stocks.
When they tell you to behave, they always forget to specify whether to behave well or badly!

Looks a bit too "knarly" for a USGI stock - could be foreign made. - Bob

I don't know if this is related to the above postings, but many years ago I was picking up some M1 rifle
stocks from a dealer at his warehouse. This dealer bid on government surplus and bought alot of stuff
from Rock Island and Crane in Ind. He had carbine stocks all over and i noticed some of them, they
very light weight wood of a type, I was not familiar with - and the stocks in the butt area were two piece
like the Japanese Arisaka stocks. He told there were from Japan !

Those would be neat to see. The Japanese defense force was using them for a time weren't they also? Just like Germany?

That crack could be repaired with more and better placement of threaded brass pins.
I can't see enough of the full stock to decide anything else. Might be a M2 Potbelly.
I have some Asian Kapur Stocks their grain looks more like Birch.
This one might be a early commercial, we just can't see enough to judge it.
ALL: Catch the Meteor showers at the end of the week. An overlap of 3 different showers...... FWIW.
