One tip, try to get as much to match as possible, as this will pay off in the end.

I've been lusting after one for a good few years, ever since I bought and since sold my first rifle which was a l39, I'm currently torn between a l42 clone a dealer near me has and a enforcer, he also has an enforcer but I've got a niggling feeling it's a charnwood, it doesn't have the modified safety. I'd rather a police purchased example than pay a premium (2850) for a parts made up example.
Regards Stephen

Steve,
Mine will be coming up for sale soon as I cull my collection somewhat. It was my issue rifle.
Can send some pics if interested, and not that expensive I can assure you. Just let my L42 go to complete CES. Sad but necessary
PM me your email address

Yes recieved................. images on their way back to you.
My issue Enforcer had the extra, of machine carved non slip done on the wrist and the foregrip by Moon's then in Kent, who used to do this for odd orders for the Police fine anti slip carving. I think he's long gone but not many of these about they are normally
"clean fatigue"

Does it have AT as its prefix?
................................if so it was one of 33 sent to Donnington on the 18th October 1971, if not, you are out of luck after several trawls of hundreds of numbers

In relation to wood carvings for anti slip on the wrist and stock, it was Colin Moon of Kent that used to fabricate these on the Enforcers for odd forces and thanks to Roger for remembering his name.
The other oddment on my rifle was the double lozenge where the S/N and the separate lozenge for the rest of the text below. Many rifles had their print direct onto the metalwork and a lot had single lozenges, all to do with unsold Envoys and lot of giggery pockery to boot which is sadly lost in time, but it is known that Envoy and all references had to be removed before work could be carried out on the rifles.
It was when they found fresh No4 Mk2 actions, that the Enforcer designation was directly applied to the metal, so no lozenges.
All these strange changes.........but thanks to Nigel Greenaway
for the unusual history of these changes. I must have the only double lozenge one out there unless someone else has one???
