Custom or DIY rear stock band for No 4's?

A freeze plug sounds like it may be a reasonable starting point, but it also sounds like a lot of work. I suspect you'd wind up having to weld in a short section on the bottom. I think I'd just get another rear handguard. They're cheap enough.
