Did he survive WW1 and, if he did, hopefully he wasn't too scarred, mentally or physically?

America did make a valuable contribution to ending WW1 in victory for the allies in 1918.

He survived without a mark. Spent all his time at Camp Pike Arkansas and never made it "Over there". He did die before I was born.
