    Thank you gentlemen. So the guy is an honest seller, good to know. I'll look for him at the next show to see what else he has.
    Is this as issued or was there any lanyard or strap that went with it?

    I'm not sure if the leather tie thong was still standard issue, I have seen them with one attached.

    I have seen the old brown M1911 holsters dyed black too. During the Viet Nam era more pistols were issued, for example when the M79 40mm was issued
    at one per squad, that man also was issued a M1911A1 and others were also issued the pistol. I think they were starting to use-up the old supply of holsters
    that and the fact that leather did not last too well in Viet Nam

    Yes, that was a general order, dye them black. I think that started back around Korea? Those of course carried the old manufacturer names. These others, Cathay Ent and Bucheimer were produced special. I don't think there were any other new manufacture holsters were there?
