A gap as small as 1/4"

I remember the time that I witnessed a mouse squeeze through the gap under a door after it had got into our kitchen. The amusing side to it was seeing my mother standing on a kitchen chair "brandishing" the fire poker at the mouse, no wonder it made a bid for freedom.
