This is an original M.91/30 Top Mount sniper rifle. It would had carried a PE scope. You can find a big amount of information and pictures of these sniper variant here: https://www.m9130.info/pe-top-mount-...-sniper-rifles

I would want to express that your rifle is NOT arsenal overhauled. As such is is very sought after since only very few were captured by Western countries and survived WWII in untouched condition. The mismatching bolt might be hurting the value, still it is highly valueable.

The magazine floorplate should also feature the full rifle serial. And I think the year date on your rifle would read as 1935.

PS: where do you keep finding these original (sportered) sniper rifles in Canadaicon? Is this one from the same source as the P.14 Sniper that got stripped off the rear base?

    Or perhaps a PEM scope.

    Congratulations on a great find.

I found this rifle at a local gun show last summer, thank you for the information Promo, greatly appreciated. The P14 came from an estate sale in eastern Canadaicon, and there was another similar P14 found in Western Canada which I think browningautorifleicon is talking about.

Excellent piece you picked up at that show. Congratulations to it. Also for this one, take your time, one day you'll find an original base and mount and will be able to restore it.

If you by the way read the site where I had posted the link to, if you remove the action from the stock, on bottom of the recoil lug you find the assembly number - that same number was also originally stamped to the scope base that was placed on it. Since I have seen already three times with original top mount sniper rifles that they have the assembly number also stamped there, would you mind showing the left side finger groove of the stock?

I can not remove the stock at this time, the sling is held on by a rivot. At some point I will find a way to remove sling to take it apart and reinstall sling. I did take a picture of the left side.
(Cannot slide stock band off until sling is removed)

magazine plate serial numbers matches correct.
