    I'd almost be tempted to make it up to resemble something like an RIC carbine as a placeholder, or go all in as a classic sporter, see the Lee Speed.

    You would have to lose the flash hider, and the unmodified forestock is worth a fair amount in resale.

    I had a couple come past me here that had mods like this, ended up parting them both out like that. The wood on this one would bring enough, the hole in the top could be patched. I wondered why the butt hadn't been changed long ago to something more comfortable to shoot.

    Thanks all, recently removed a coat of polyurethane on the furniture and oiled the wood up nice. Gonna keep it like it is for now, maybe trade for something else at some point. Also, will keep an eye out for anything that might solve the sights issue for me.
