Here's my latest purchase. All serial numbers match and it still has its front and rear volley sights intact. What does the star on the stock and bolt handle indicate? I've read mixed things...

The * means it is a Pattern 14 MkI*. The left lug has been lengthened. Your rifle apparently is one of the 45% to not go through the Weedon Repair Standard though. Makes it a little rarer.
Very nice looking rifle....are you able to share a few more photos of it?
I would like to see the very end of the fore stock, looking from the muzzle to the butt end, there should be a stamping in the wood there. As well it would be nice to see a picture in the area where the butt stock marking disc is, and if you feel so inclined maybe a nice picture of the left/right side of the rifle in it's entirety.
Not sure where you found that one but I've been looking and advertising for a non-Weedonized P14 in the same country as you......good for you for coming across that one!

After submitting the above text I looked at M1lover's profile and saw that earlier this year that there was a thread started on this same rifle with info and pictures, that has answered my questions so no need to send additional photos M1lover.
Nice rifle even though it sits in a Eddystone stock.

That post was from a different rifle that I ended up passing on. This is a different rifle.

Your rifle is 1077 units before mine was made. Mine was manufactured as a mk1* and built into a target rifle by Parker Hale, and so marked on the top of receiver. I believe yours also was manufactured as a MK1* variant from the factory. Tell tale signs are: Star inside a circle on top of receiver, and a star stamped on the bolt (as yours is) and also a star stamped into the stock about 2 o'clock of the manufacturers id stamp (ie. IW within a circle). Mine also still has the forward volley arm still attached, the rear having been removed to fit the Parker 5b sight.
Pictures to follow...I did take off the furniture and saw that it has been chambered for .308, not .303. It has BB LINDEE stamped on the barrel above the acceptance marks. Has anyone seen that before?
