Underwood - questions before purchase

A friend of mine has this Underwood for sale. He is a good guy and I trust him but I have no experience with carbines except from what I read in Canfield's book.

Does this underwood look good to you guys?

It does have a four-rivet handguard, M marked magazine catch and rotary safety, but these are replaceable

You say (fair price). You don't list a price. Are you asking what is a fair price to pay him? Prices in the US can be different the prices in Europe.
It looks pretty nice to me but More picture would be nice. Internals with markings, You only show the stock cartouche. Say Hi wood, what about the sling cut? I or O?
Just from what you show, I think that stock alone would seal a deal here.

These are the only pictures I got from my friend, but I've handled the carbine myself. It is a high wood, I-cut stock. The trigger group is probably a postwar rebuilt. The price is around 600 $.

The stock alone would bring at least half that price here in Va. Nice looking carbine from what I can see.

I will let you guys know when it gets here. It has to be imported from another country so it will take a while.

Is it correct that some early underwood stocks did not have a "P" marking?

Burtonaxe, that is a Rock-Ola Manufacturing Corporation (RMC) stock. I-cut highwoods are worth big dollers here in the states. You would need a GHD over UEF in a box with a CC to the right. Highwood and I think it could be either I-cut or oval for your Underwood. I think you should also have a type one band for that serial number. Are you sure that the band isn't a type 3 with the bayonet lug cut off? Either way you did good and we are looking forward to more pics when you get the carbine.....Frank
