    M1 Carbine magazine pouch.

I recently picked up this M1icon Carbine pouch at a local brocante, here in France.
I was told that the leather attachment and ring are probably Frenchicon Army additions.
Is that probable? or possibly an extra fitting for airborne troops?

Perhaps airborne but I doubt US airborne. I'd believe Legionnaire parachute perhaps as they sure used enough M1A1s to justify. Not US mod as far as I've ever seen or heard.

Thanks, that could be a possibility. I'll have to do a bit of research over hear.

Those little tabs are common on Frenchicon items so likely French. May not be airborne either, just standard issue.

Where ever it was rigged they copied the use of the D Ring hanger like those found on the Germanicon GW/K 43 Ammo pouch.

Rare GW/K43 ammo pouch, out of the woodwork
