In 1989, I took a Blacktail deer with an M1 Carbine, at 97 long paces, with a single heart/lung shot (R-P 110 grain JSP). It jumped once (about for 30 feet!) when hit, and fell over dead right there. Heck of an exit hole on the opposite side.
At close range it's like getting hit with a 357 magnum. That soft point probably mushroomed to at least 45 caliber by the time it came out.
On the other hand at 200 yards against heavy Chinese winter gear not so good.
