Chinese 7.62 x39 bren gun parts

Was there ever any Chinese bren gun conversion parts floating around? My last bren gun parts set I will start welding it back together but I am going to convert it to 7.62x39.

My main interest is duplicating the Chinese ak magazine adapter dimensions. Without having one in hand or pics with something for scale it means some reverse engineering for me.

Pretty sure I have everything else covered with a game plan.

A 3/4 scale Bren in 7.62x39 would be fun.

I don't know about anyone else out there, but....... I knw that the Chinese did convert them to 762 x 39 but I wonder how big the gas port would have to be in order to get the sheer amount of blast to operate the heavy working parts of a Bren. .30, 7.92, 7.62 and .303, yes and plenty to spare. But 7.62 x 39........ Anyone else any thoughts

We used to say that during classroom technical discussions about the AK47 variants. We decided that during the trials, they drilled the gas port with the BIGGEST drill that they could safely get away with. Thereafter, there was absolutely no stopping it! No gas stoppages with an AK!

The only one I have seen ( modern ) was a full auto and a semi auto made by SMG guns.
They have a vid test firing the FA and the semi was posted here from the Ian M guy from forgotten weapons. I think someone posted the gas hole was opened up WAY big , like .187" big. That's crazy and I am not going there.

SMG guns does builds on DP / DPMs and offers the RP46 conversion. On the DP/ DPM builds they use to use a washer welded into the flash hider as a booster ( something else I would never do ) but maybe that's the only way they could get it to run.

The Chinese conversion is claimed to be pretty much standard Bren but they shortened the sear catch slot on the piston post since it had reduced travel.

Its neat someone already did this decades ago and some details are hard to find.

I suspect if they didn't do that it would result in a runaway gun, reduced travel because it had insufficient gas.

I just can't imagine why anyone would change a Bren to 762 x 39 when they already had the RPD. In Vietnam we used to call the RPD the GBF......... For Great Balls of Fire. It was a monster and a feared monster too!
