That's allot of smoke grenades in the 2nd pic, could it be a LZ or evac point for wounded! (Not shown in the pic!)

I never painted my hands, I wore gloves. As for the first picture, for sure that man is "in country." As for the second the guy just forded some stream as he's soaked from the waist down. And carrying a M.G. tripod and a pack frame with ammo. No blank adaptor so it ain't training.

Just saying but having live grenades for a photo op in training seems odd. I'd guess the guy is Force Recon as he has corporals rank on his K-Bar, the Army had Spec-4's. There is also a globe and anchor sticker on the door frame. Upon close examination he appears to have gloves hanging from his gear on the right side in back. And if the second picture is training it's without blank ammo.
