    Nope - just makes it a No1 Mk3* instead of a No1Mk3
    This was a wartime "saving" to make production easier and faster. A Mk3 is worth a few pennies more than a Mk3* but so what - its a 'family piece' not an investment.

    I looks to me like a MKIII that has had its magazine cutoff removed (you can just see the slot where it went) - a common conversion.

    I think your right!
    You can just make out the end of the slot in the stock cut out for the charger bridge.
    If your ever interested in restoring it to it’s original configuration have a look in the “Restorers Corner” for useful information.
