Missouri's claim may be a bit of a stretch: The St. Louis World's Fair of 1904 was where the ice cream cone was introduced, but the Doumar brothers who introduced the cones were from New Jersey and traveled to St. Louis to sell them at a souvenir shop. They later relocated to Virginia Beach, VA and then to Norfolk, VA. Their original machine is still in use at the family's drive-in restaurant . More, HERE.
