It's a "registered conversion device" made by S & H (Curtis Higgins IIRC). It fits the semi-auto sporters, and is one of the main reasons they're so expensive.

I purchased a fnc sporter with a full stock back in 1988 from Ashland shooting supplies for $421.95 shipped. I sold it in 1999 for $1,700 I had dealers tripping over there self to look at it, I should have asked more.
    Rifle was a tack driver.
Yes, there were a lot of auto sear out there for the rifle,I did'n,t know that at the time. D"oh!!!

Yeah, I'd say that is about the range I'm seeing. And I would say this one is towards the upper end due to so few, if any, rounds through it, the folding stock, and the specially-designed sight rail, not to mention the original box, papers, sling, and manual. Near as I can tell, the only thing missing is the magazine, which, fortunately, can be replaced with readily available AR-15/M-15 magazines. I love to get a chance to shoot it, but not gonna happen.... Thaks for your reply!
