    Tommy I use 5.5 of 231 for everything from 185 grain to 230's with fine results.

    W231 is my 90% use pistol powder

    and my "standard" 45ACP load is 5.2 grains of W231 under a 200 grain SWC lead bullet. I suspect this is around 800 fps and it feeds and cycles in any 1911 with a standard spring. accurate, but mild enough to enjoy and shoot lots of rounds.
