Austrian Rock-Ola
BWT delivered my CMP
Rock-Ola. I think I did well. You can find pictures here:
CMP Austrian Rock-Ola - WW2 Weapons Forum
Here's the breakdown:
Receiver: Late '43, 1,724,xxx
Barrel: Rock-Ola without a date, MW 1.5
Bolt: Round, blued Rock-Ola
Slide: Type E279 stamped "I" beneath
Front Sight: N marked
Mag catch: M underlined
Safety: late, flip type
Hammer: SW (late type)
Sear: RI with hole
Trigger: RI
Trigger Housing: Rock-Ola milled and LKGoo on floorplate
Barrel Band: KI Type 2 w/o bayo lug
Rear sight: adjustable milled marked PI
Stock: TR TN, oval low wood
Handguard: S-HB with SN stamped in it
Gas Cylinder: Rock-Ola with a flaming bomb
Recoil Plate: LN
And for my questions:
1. What does the I on the OP Slide stand for?
2. The RI on trigger and sear?
3. The N on the trigger guard?
4. Could any of these parts above been subcontracted for Rock-Ola?
5. Is the round type bolt correct?

About Sept.1943 for your serial number. Where on the slide is the I? The RI sear and trigger are for Inland. The N on the trigger housing if on the right side would be for National Postal meter. The round bolt is not correct for your serial number. The mixed parts are from when your carbine went through a rebuild. hth

The N is on top right behind the front sight post. The I is on the underside of the slide. Can you see the pictures? Somebody had a problem with the link. Thanks.
