    USSR,

Yes, it is cheaper, but I don't feel comfortable shooting full lead in my Carbines.
I cast 45 long colt for my single action years ago and hated the leading build up issues in the handgun.
Are you using the wheel weights as is, or are you mixing them with something elso too? Kind of soft as is aren't they?

    Jim

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Manufacturer of various vintage rifle scopes for the 1903 such as our M73G4 (reproduction of the Weaver 330C) and Malcolm 8X Gen II (Unertl reproduction). Several of our scopes are used in the CMP Vintage Sniper competition on top of 1903 rifles. Brian Dick ... Jim,

I'm using alot of linotype. I believe the last batch consisted of 6# linotype and 2# WW. No sign of leading. Yes, you need to get more tin and antimony into wheelweights to make for a harder alloy.

After searching a few gunshops and a few Walmarts I was able to get 1 box of Remington 110 grain FMJ. Paid 27 bucks for 50 rounds! Had to drive an hour too but was seeing my family so no biggy. The store clerk said my last box and dont expect anymore in. I'm shocked how rare 30 carbine has gotten. Guess I'll get some dies and hunt brass to reload.

.380? I have a couple of .380s and some of my ammo has sat for long that the box of CCI "Lawman" has had the foam rubber insert turn to goo. .380 is for when ya really gotta pull the trigger. Otherwise, they just sit...

just received my ship notice on the two five hundred boxes I ordered from the CMPicon on 3/30/09. Will be at my door in 4 days. Good ammo, and low prices, took 4 months to ship, but that's ok with me.
