1911/1911A1 Mag
Folks, I came across an blued "M.S. Little" mag with the L on the bottom of the lip. I know Raymond Eng marked their 1911 mags with an R on the bottom of the lip. Is my mag a freak of production, a common occurance, or something unusual? Thanks- Jim.

Please show us some pictures of the Mag in close up detail. If the only mark on it is an L on the bottom of the toe, you either have a rare piece that someone at the factory goofed on or someone had too much time on their hands and a do- it -yourself stamp kit. I tend to believe the second scenario.

I have a Ridson with R on the bottom of the toe, same font as a normal letter on top of the toe. Also, the letter is slightly less deep where the bottom of the magazine was ground to take off the excess magazine tube so I'm convinced the baseplate was installed upside down. I would like to see a picture of your Little.

Like f15guy said, the mag with the R on the bottom is a Raymond Engineering Corp.

Raymond magazines are two tone and pinned. This Ridson magazine is fully blue and welded.

I haven't mastered the art of posting yet. Maybe I could email pics to some fellow collector who will post them for me.
