    hirsca......you better go up and reread my posts above. The F marked barrel is for a later gun. You need a small G marked Colt barrel for your pistol. So your answer would be NO....

    I'm not Duane, but...No, you can't assume the barrel is correct. The barrel in your pistol wasn't made or used until mid-1943 at about serial number 933,000. The F marked Colt barrels were commonly used from about 933,000 throughout the end of production

    Your barrel has been changed. Your pistol's original barrel had a small G in front of the lugs. A small G Colt barrel is one of the toughest ones to acquire. When you can find one, they're normally expensive.

    If you go to buy one, beware of fakes. I've seen several bogus barrels offered for sale in the last 2-3 years.
