Wow!
His story alone should make people want to run away, but the bids are crazy.
He says it remained all original but some bubba somewhere along the way cut out an M2 selector cut for no reason?
Original Inland M1A1
Paratrooper Carbine, It's all there, all correct…..
The stock has one minor problem, you probably would not have noticed had I not disclosed it. Someone removed the wood inside to provide for a M2 selector lever, having previously done some woodworking I cut a matching piece of wood from the same interior location of another M1 stock and using clamps, carefully fitted, and glued, this piece in place where the wood had been removed, it's amazing how well this came out, so nice you cannot tell it.

In the last year...
...of the war , didn't they have mobile tent shops that went from unit to unit converting thier semi M1s to FA M2s ? These were mainly interrested in M2 change overs , not the whole upgrade package . If the jigs they used fit inside the reciever area of the stock to do the cut , it could have been done to any M1 or M1A1
stock. Chris

Chris,
that's the same thing I've heard.
Plus I think MR. Ricca or Inland44 spoke of a kit issued to some who could then do the cutting themselves.
IIRC......

My S'G' bring back's type 1 highwood was done with a butter knife! It came out of 1944 carrying case with that hacked in, a m2 mag catch and a SEY slant cut 30 rounder in a envelope.
The rest of it is brand new and matching. I'd post a pic of that stock but you would cry.

You just have to post a photo now Curt!

Ok I'm new at this so here's my guesses so far. Flip sight, front barrel band and stock? There's others that look fishy but I'm gonna study and think a bit.
